Household garbage is scheduled to be collected Monday and Friday of each week beginning April 14, 2023. Monday only collections will resume October 9, 2023.

Dominion Energy will host a drop-in open house on Wednesday, April 5th, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Edisto Beach Civic Center (42 Station Court). Dominion Energy representatives will be available to speak with Edisto Beach residents regarding the upcoming palmetto tree-cutting project on Edisto Beach and to answer any questions.

Dominion Energy is scheduled to begin removing palmetto trees located within the “Mandatory Safety Zone” on April 10th (see diagram below). This area is located within the Dominion Energy right-of-way (ROW). A palmetto tree trunk located on property which has a canopy extending into the ROW is also subject to removal by Dominion Energy. Palmetto Boulevard and Edings Street water main is repaired.

Town crews are actively working to repair a water leak on Palmetto Blvd. and Edings Street which have caused temporary water outages. More information will be posted once it becomes available.

Up for consideration in the State General Assembly is Senate Bill 282 which, as proposed, provides a dedicated state fund for beach preservation. At its January 12th meeting, Town Council approved this resolution for Ms. Iris Hill, Town Administrator, in appreciation and recognition of her exemplary years of service to the Town of Edisto Beach.
